KISANY x CLIO GOLDBRENNER
For the occasion of the International Women’s Day, we decided to refund half of our benefits made on 8/03/2019 to KISANY. KISANY is a project that is very precious to us because it’s a commitment for the cause of women in Africa.
KISANY is a high-end brand of home linen and life-style pieces that allows embroiders, who produce these articles, to take back their lives with dignity, wealth and honor.
The benefits will be invested in a program called “L’école des femmes” which offers members of KISANY a complementary education and leads to a better future. The products of KISANY are distributed worldwide, providing a fair income to women in Goma and Kigali.
In Belgium, a team of devoted volunteers coordinates and commercializes the project:
THEIR VISION: “A BETTER WORLD THANKS TO A DISTRIBUTIVE ECONOMY“
Just like Kate Raworth, KISANY dreams of and helps build “a world in which every person can lead their life with dignity, opportunity and community, within the means of our life-giving planet”.
At KISANY, they believe that by giving a woman the power to take control of her life and paying her fairly for her work, they also give her family, her community, her country a chance. It gives every woman the opportunity to escape the cycle of poverty and to regain her dignity.
THEIR MISSION: “GIVE WORK”
Their mission expresses the desire to provide dignified opportunities and working conditions to a maximum of vulnerable citizens, especially women and girls in developing countries.
By giving them work, they give women the opportunity to pick up the thread of their lives with courage, pride and joy. By purchasing their products, you give KISANY women the chance to make their own choices and to take control over their own destiny.
THEIR COMMITMENT: “BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD“
KISANY Social Enterprise SPRL-FS is a Belgian social enterprise that does not proceed to the distribution of any dividends.
Their social goals are aimed at high-end crafts training, employment and empowerment of vulnerable women in East Africa.
All their distributable profits are redirected towards their social purpose, either at
- donations to their social partner, the Belgian non-profit EN AVANT LES ENFANTS (LET’S GO KIDS), which are dedicated to the education and various trainings in Goma and Kigali, or
- capital expenditures that will help provide more work for their beneficiaries.
They ensure fair payments and decent working conditions for everyone who works with them.
